Updates from Mission Pie
Wednesday, April 22 is Earth Day
This Earth Day, Mission Pie is donating all of the proceeds of the day to the Grow a Farmer Campaign for the Center for Agroecology & Sustainable Food Systems at UC Santa Cruz.
The program has an urgent need for funds to build housing for its Apprenticeship Program.
Every year, 38 aspiring farmers live and learn on a 25-acre piece of land on the campus. The University is requiring the program to build permanent housing for its students to replace the tents in which they’d been housed.
Today’s apprentices make tomorrows farmers and tomorrows farmers help make tomorrows pie.
So, on this earth day, eat some pie, drink some coffee, buy some local honey and think about kicking in a little extra over the everyday price…all the money is going directly to the Campaign.
